Privacy Policy for 혜택콕 (Benefit Pick)

혜택콕 (Benefit Pick) is an independent, advertising-supported Android application that helps users search, review, save, and prepare to apply for public benefits. It is not an official government application and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of the Republic of Korea.

1. Information handled by the app

혜택콕 does not require an account. The developer does not operate an application backend that receives user profiles, and the app does not request access to precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or call history.

The app handles the following information:

• Search text: Typing in the search field filters the currently loaded list on the device. Only when the user explicitly selects Full Search is the trimmed benefit-name query sent over HTTPS to the Korean public-data API at api.odcloud.kr.
• Saved-benefit update checks: If the user enables optional saved-benefit change alerts, the public service identifiers of saved benefits are sent to api.odcloud.kr in a network-constrained background check, normally no more than once per day. The app does not attach an account, contact, precise location, or custom analytics identifier to this request.
• Information stored on the device: Favorites, recently viewed benefit identifiers, limited saved/recent benefit snapshots, application-preparation checklist selections, alert preferences and comparison baselines, cached public-benefit data, and advertising/review frequency counters are stored locally in the app's private storage.
• User-initiated Android actions: When a user chooses to share a benefit, call a listed inquiry number, or add a closing date to a calendar, the app opens the Android Sharesheet, dialer, or calendar app. The destination selected by the user receives the public benefit information needed for that action. 혜택콕 does not read the user's contacts or calendar.

2. Advertising and consent services

혜택콕 uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display interstitial advertisements and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to request and manage privacy choices where required.

Depending on the user's region, device settings, consent choices, and Google's serving mode, Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect and share information such as:

• IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
• app and advertisement interactions, such as app launches, taps, and video views;
• diagnostic and performance information, such as launch time, hang rate, and energy usage; and
• device or account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID where available.

Google states that data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. This information may be used for advertising, analytics, ad measurement, and fraud prevention. Users can manage advertising identifiers through Android settings and can revisit available advertising privacy choices from the app's information screen when Google requires that entry point.

Google's handling of information is governed by its own policies, including:

3. Other third-party services

• Korean public-data API (api.odcloud.kr): Provides public benefit list and detail information and processes explicit full-search queries and optional saved-benefit update requests.
• Google Play In-App Review: Opens Google's review flow only after a user selects the review action. Google Play services are governed by Google's privacy policy.
• External apps selected by the user: A sharing app, dialer, browser, or calendar app may process information after the user chooses to open it. Those apps operate under their own privacy policies.

4. Permissions

• Internet and network state: Required to retrieve public-benefit data, request consent information, and load advertisements.
• Advertising ID: Declared for Google Mobile Ads functionality, subject to device settings and applicable consent choices.
• Notifications: Requested only if the user enables saved-benefit change alerts on Android versions that require runtime notification permission.

The app does not request contact, calendar, location, camera, microphone, photo, or storage permissions for the sharing, dialer, or calendar features.

5. Retention and deletion

• Search text is held in app memory and is not intentionally persisted by 혜택콕.
• Recently viewed items can be cleared from the app. Old recent entries and benefit snapshots rotate out when their local limits are reached.
• Favorites and application-preparation steps can be removed or unchecked by the user.
• Disabling saved-benefit alerts stops future background checks and removes the alert baseline used by the app.
• All app-controlled local information can be deleted by clearing 혜택콕's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
• Information processed by Google, the public-data provider, or another app selected by the user is retained according to that provider's own policies.

Because 혜택콕 has no user accounts, there is no separate server-side account deletion process.

6. Security

Network requests made by 혜택콕 use HTTPS. Local information is stored in Android app-private storage and is subject to the device's security and backup settings. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but the app limits collection and does not operate a separate user-profile database.

7. Children

혜택콕 is intended for a general adult audience seeking public-benefit information and is not specifically directed to children under 13. The app should not be distributed as a child-directed app without a separate review of Google Play Families and advertising requirements.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app's features, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date and last-updated date above will be revised when material changes are made.
