This policy applies to Hotel of Lies (거짓말 호텔), Android package com.brainer.liehotel, provided by brainer / Brainer Studio. The same app is named うそつきホテル, Hotel der Lügen, L’Hôtel des mensonges, and Hotel das Mentiras in supported languages.

Information stored on your device

The game stores case progress, solved cases, statement notes, selected suspects, hint and explanation progress, earned bonus clues, language, sound and vibration preferences, an optional advertising eligibility age-band choice, advertising frequency records, and a once-only review-request attempt record in app-private storage. The game does not upload this puzzle data or age-band choice to an app-operated server. Android cloud backup is disabled for the app. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes these local records; progress cannot then be restored by us.

You do not need an account. The app does not request your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location. It does not provide chat, payments, or push notifications. It does not ask for a date of birth or identity documents.

Advertising and third-party services

The app enables Google's Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform (UMP) only after a successfully saved choice of age 18 or older in its optional advertising setup. Users who choose a younger age band, skip the choice, or have not answered can play all cases and use both standard hints without enabling advertising services. The age-band choice stays on the device; the app does not send the chosen band to us or include it in an ad request. You can review the choice in Settings. If advertising services were already enabled, changing to an ineligible choice uses an explicitly labeled save-and-close action; reopening starts with advertising disabled. This does not delete information previously processed by Google.

When enabled, the app offers optional rewarded advertising for an extra statement clue and limited interstitial advertising during chapter transitions. The two standard hints and the puzzle evidence remain available without watching a rewarded ad. Advertising or consent errors do not prevent you from playing.

When advertising services operate, Google may collect and share an IP address and estimated general location, app and ad interactions, performance and diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers such as advertising ID and app set ID. These are used for advertising, measurement and analytics, and fraud prevention. The app does not add a separate analytics or crash-reporting service. Disabling optional crash-handler reporting does not stop all SDK diagnostic collection.

For users with advertising enabled, UMP handles applicable consent and privacy messages and stores related choices. The app refreshes consent information when advertising starts, including at launch for a saved eligible choice, and gates ad initialization and loading on UMP's permission to request ads. UMP is not an age-verification service. Available choices and advertising behavior depend on your region, device settings, and Google's services. Where required, eligible users can reopen advertising privacy choices in the app's Settings. A choice against personalized advertising does not necessarily remove every advertisement or all advertising-related processing.

Google Play reviews

After you solve at least seven different cases, the app may make one request to show Google's official in-app review flow at a quiet point in gameplay. Showing the review flow is controlled by Google Play, and leaving a rating or review is optional. The game provides no reward for reviewing and does not receive your rating or review text through this API.

If you submit a rating or review, Google Play processes it in encrypted form to publish a review on the Play Store; reviews submitted in a closed test may instead be shared privately with the developer. You can delete your review through your Google Play Store or Google Account. See Google's in-app review data handling and Google Play Terms of Service.

Security, retention and deletion

Local records remain on your device until cleared or uninstalled. Data transmitted by the Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Google controls retention and deletion for information it processes. Uninstalling this app or changing consent does not automatically delete Google's existing server-side records. Use Google's privacy controls and published processes for those records. Contact us for questions about the app's handling of information. We cannot retrieve or individually delete puzzle progress that exists only on your device.

If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. We use it to answer and resolve your request and keep correspondence only as needed for that purpose and any applicable legal obligations. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Audience and international processing

The game is intended for teenagers aged 13 and above and adults, and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us. Google services may process information outside your country under the protections described in Google's privacy policy.

Changes and contact

We will publish changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app when appropriate.
