Stitch Note (뜨개노트) Privacy Policy
Stitch Note Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 4, 2026
Stitch Note (Korean app name: 뜨개노트; package com.brainer.stitchnote) is a local-first knitting project and row-counter app published by Brainer Studio.
Data the app handles
Stitch Note lets you enter project names, yarn and needle details, notes, counter names and values, targets, project status, and optional project photos. This content is stored only inside the app's private storage on your device. The app does not require an account and does not send this content to Brainer Studio or any app-operated server.
When you choose a photo, Android's system photo picker gives Stitch Note access only to the item you selected. The app creates a resized copy in its private storage for use as a project photo. The original remains under the control of your photo provider.
Backups and imports
Automatic Android cloud backup is disabled for Stitch Note. You may explicitly create a backup archive from the app's settings. The archive contains your project records and their attached photo copies. Android's system document picker lets you choose where to save it, which can be local storage or a storage provider you have connected to Android. Stitch Note does not control or receive data stored by that provider. Review the provider's privacy terms before choosing it.
Import is also user initiated through Android's system document picker. Stitch Note validates the selected archive, previews its contents, and merges imported projects with new internal identifiers so existing projects are not silently overwritten.
Advertising, consent, collection, and sharing
The free version of Stitch Note displays modest banner ads provided by Google AdMob. Before requesting an ad, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to update consent information and show a required privacy message where applicable. If consent information does not permit ad requests, the app does not request an ad. When required, Settings provides access to Google's privacy-options form so you can review or change your choices. Consent or ad failures do not block project or counter features.
According to Google's disclosure for Mobile Ads SDK 25.5.0, the SDK automatically collects and shares IP address (which may estimate general location), user product interactions, diagnostic information (including crash and app/SDK performance information), and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes. Google encrypts this data in transit. Google and participating ad providers process advertising data under their own terms and the choices presented in the consent flow. Stitch Note does not send project names, notes, counter values, backups, or project photos to the advertising SDK.
Brainer Studio does not operate a server for Stitch Note and does not receive your private project content. The app does not collect precise location, contacts, financial information, or account credentials. Brainer Studio adds no separate developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and the app contains no login, billing, or social SDK.
After you complete a project in which you have used a counter, the app may ask the Google Play Store to show its standard in-app review flow. The request is infrequent, never rewarded, and does not block any feature. The Play Store controls whether the prompt appears and processes any star rating or optional review text under Google's privacy terms. Stitch Note does not receive the prompt response directly; published reviews are available through the normal Google Play listing and developer tools.
The Android operating system, Google Mobile Ads and UMP services, Google Play Store review service, and any document or photo provider you choose may process data independently under their own terms. Brainer Studio does not receive your private project content from Stitch Note.
Retention and deletion
Project records and attached photo copies remain on your device until you remove a photo, delete the project, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Removing a photo or deleting a project removes the app's private photo copy once no remaining project uses that copy. Backup archives that you created remain at the location you selected until you delete them there.
Security
App data is protected by Android's application sandbox. No storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep control of any exported backup archive, because it may include your notes and photos and is not encrypted by Stitch Note.
Children
Stitch Note is intended for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to children.
Changes
If the app's data practices change, this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure will be updated before the changed version is distributed.
